These are the terms that apply when you use this website, order from the farm shop, book an event, or hire any of our services. By using the site or buying from us, you're agreeing to them.
We've tried to write them in plain English. If anything's unclear, please call us on 01782 550824 or write to [email protected] and we'll explain.
The website and the businesses on it are run by Oakleys Farm Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.
Company number: 12595919
VAT number: GB 384 117 220
Registered address: Little Blakeley Lane Farm, Dilhorne, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire ST10 2PT
Trading from: The same address
When we say "we", "us" or "the farm" in these terms, that's the company. When we say "you", that's whoever is using the site or buying from us.
The Oakley's Farm name covers several trading divisions: the Farm Shop, Buffalo Meat, Equine Forage, The Log Store, The Tipi at Oakley's, Buffalo & Co Kitchen, Reindeer for Hire, Mobile Petting Farm, and The Animal Co. They all sit under Oakleys Farm Ltd and these terms cover all of them.
Staffordshire Garden Supplies is run by a separate company and has its own terms, which you can find on its own site.
You're welcome to browse the site, read about us and use it for anything reasonable. A few things you can't do:
We don't promise the site will be available at all times. If it goes down for a bit, we'll get it back up. We'd rather not, but we reserve the right to suspend access if someone is misusing it.
Online ordering isn't switched on yet. You can browse the shop and fill a basket, but checkout, delivery and online payment launch soon. Sections 4 to 6 describe how ordering will work from the day it goes live; until then, everything is bought in person at the farm or arranged over the phone in the usual way.
When you add things to your basket and place an order, you're making us an offer to buy. We accept that offer when we send you an order confirmation by email. Until then, no contract exists.
Sometimes we can't fulfil an order, for instance if a product has sold out or there's a pricing error. We'll let you know as quickly as we can and refund any payment.
Our online checkout runs at checkout.oakleysfarm.co.uk, a separate part of the site we use for handling payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store full card details. See our privacy policy for what we do store.
All prices on the site include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you pay.
We try to keep prices and product information up to date and accurate. Where a price is obviously wrong (for example, beef ribeye listed at 50p), we may cancel the order and refund you, even if it's been accepted.
Photos are for illustration. Cuts of meat, loaves of bread and bunches of vegetables will vary in shape and size. Weights given are minimums unless stated otherwise.
When accounts launch, one Oakleys account will work across our group of websites - the same login, gift cards, loyalty rewards and basket wherever you're shopping with us. You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for anything ordered through your account. If you think someone else has access to it, tell us straight away and we'll lock it down.
You can close your account whenever you like by contacting us; see our privacy policy for what happens to your data when you do.
We deliver across the Midlands, with different ranges for different products. Specifics are on each product page or service page.
Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. If you're not in when we arrive with chilled goods, we can't usually leave them, and you'll be charged for a re-attempt.
If you've chosen collection rather than delivery, please collect within 48 hours of the agreed time. After that we may have to dispose of perishable goods.
Most fresh food can't be returned for reasons of food safety. If something arrives damaged or isn't as described, let us know within 24 hours and we'll either replace it or refund you, whichever you'd prefer. Photos help.
For things like dry goods, equine forage, kindling and logs (unopened), you have 14 days from delivery to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You'll need to return the item in its original condition at your own cost, and we'll refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving it back.
If something we sold you turns out to be faulty within a reasonable time, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. Get in touch and we'll sort it.
Tickets for events run by us, like supper clubs and workshops, are subject to these specific terms:
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times on the farm and at events. Some events have minimum age requirements, shown on the event page.
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability we can't legally exclude.
Other than that, our liability to you in connection with any order or visit is limited to the price you paid us, or £100, whichever is higher.
The farm is a working farm. Visiting involves animals, uneven ground, mud, weather, and the occasional surprise from a goose. We do everything reasonable to keep visitors safe, but you're responsible for following instructions, keeping children supervised, and using a sensible level of care.
We may update these terms from time to time, for example if the law changes or we add a new service. The version that applies to your order is the one in force when you place it.
The latest version is always at this URL with the date at the top.
If anything's unclear, or you want to raise a complaint, please get in touch:
These terms are governed by English law, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Luckily, the humans write it down: what's in season at the shop, who's just been born, what's on at the farm. No noise, no spam.
